THE VALLEY

The Valley

Asher Emanuel
This book offers a rare insight into New Zealand’s criminal justice system and those who navigate it. The product of significant research by lawyer and journalist Asher Emanuel, it follows the lives two repeat but ‘small-time’ offenders and their overloaded defence lawyer. Their very personal stories expose both the challenges and shortfalls of the system, and the complexity of criminal behaviour.
